Xiaomi unveils CyberDog 2, a quadruped robot with lifelike design!

Xiaomi just announced the Xiaomi CyberDog 2 in its latest launch event in China, along with various other interesting products and offerings. This quadruped robot is the successor to Xiaomi's CyberDog, released last year, and boasts enhanced intelligence and lifelike characteristics.

Xiaomi CyberDog 2 Overview:

The cutting-edge robot from Xiaomi is compact in design and has a major design upgrade from its predecessor. Furthermore, the 12-limbed robot weighs a mere 8.9 kilos and takes inspiration from the dog breed Dobermann. This newest innovation in the field of robotics is equipped with Xiaomi’s proprietary CyberGear Micro–actuator. The technology provides increased torque, rapid responsiveness, and meticulous control to the CyberDog 2. On top of proprietary tech, CyberDog 2 has an impressive array of 19 sensors for vision, touch, and hearing.

Binding the bleeding edge hardware is nigh open–source programming. Thus the coding, structural drawings, and even graphical programming for its various sensing capabilities are accessible to developers. This approach was taken by the company to foster collaboration among developers and further progress the field of bio–inspired robots. The combination of the hardware and software provides the robot with agile mobility and the ability to perform challenging manoeuvres. For example, running at a speed of 1.6 m/s, performing continuous backflips, and fall recovery.
