Design and display

The Spark Go 2 has quite a clean, minimal design language. It is available in four different color options: “Ink Black”, “Titanium Grey”, “Veil White”, and “Turquoise Green”. The build quality gets an upgrade too, with a dust-tight IP64 rating versus the IP54 on Tecno Spark Go 1. And as you can see, its camera design at the back is unmistakably inspired by Apple’s iPhone 17 (review).

And while its 6.67-inch IPS LCD might not be AMOLED, the 120Hz refresh rate is pretty impressive for this price point. Sure, it’s HD+ resolution, but for budget phones, that’s smooth enough and surely guarantees a better experience than what we were getting compared to literally last year or two.

Performance and software

Inside, there’s the Unisoc T7250 (also known as T615) handling things with 3/4GB RAM and 64/128GB storage. It’s not going to win any speed contests, but Tecno promises 4 years of “lag-free” experience. Though Tecno hasn’t mentioned any clear update policy, which is typical for budget phones.

The software here is Tecno’s HiOS 15, based on Android 15. And of course, it also ships with a couple of AI features like AI Writing and AI Translate, which are pretty self-explanatory.

Camera and battery

The camera setup on the Tecno Spark Go 2 is basic. It has a 13MP rear shooter and an 8MP front camera. Tecno went with dual camera cutouts on the back, but there’s actually just one camera inside. Battery life should be solid with the 5,000mAh pack, though the 15W charging is pretty slow by today’s standards.
