Samsung reserves the “FE” name in its devices for semi-flagship products. Here the South Korean brand makes necessary compromises to provide an overall flagship experience in a more affordable price tag. Given that, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE is a semi-flagship earbuds that launched recently.

Blade Design Evolution

Remember when Samsung’s earbuds looked completely different from AirPods? Well, those days are gone. The Buds 3 FE adopts the blade stem design from the Buds 3 Pro, which is basically Samsung admitting that Apple got the ergonomics right. It’s funny how we’ve come full circle – everyone mocked the AirPods stems initially, and now every brand is copying them.

Talking about the design the Buds 3 FE features IP54 rating which handles sweat and light rain.  Samsung went with black and gray color options, which is refreshingly simple compared to the rainbow of colors everyone else is pushing.

Galaxy AI

Galaxy AI integration is where things get interesting. You’re getting real-time translation through Interpreter mode, which is genuinely useful if you travel or work with international colleagues. Plus there’s hands-free Google Gemini access, because apparently we need to talk to AI assistants through our earbuds now.

The adaptive equalization adjusts sound based on your listening habits, which sounds gimmicky but actually works well once the system learns your preferences. Samsung’s also throwing in 360 Audio spatial audio and 24-bit Hi-Fi sound, which puts these ahead of basic AirPods in terms of audio features..

Battery Life and Connectivity

Battery life hits 6 hours with ANC on, extending to 24 hours with the case. Turn off ANC and you’re looking at 8.5 hours from the buds and 30 hours total.

The charging case only supports USB-C, which is fine since everything’s moving that direction anyway. Bluetooth 5.4 handles connectivity, and Samsung devices get dual device pairing for switching between phone and tablet.
