      JBL Free X Overview:

      Design

The JBL Free X has an in-ear fit and an oval-ish non-stem base. It is designed to withstand occasional splashes of water with its IPX5 rating. In addition, the total weight you might have to carry around is around 99 grams, considering both the buds and the case. Speaking of which, the charging case is circular in shape. On opening, there are four LEDs to indicate charge and, obviously, two places for your buds to rest on. While the website only lists one color option (Blue), you can also find the JBL Free X available in White and Black variations.

      Audio and Connectivity

Moving on to the audio, the forces on the JBL Free X are led by 5.6-mm drivers. These drivers have an impedance of 16 ohms, delivering the company's renowned Signature Sound. Nevertheless, the connection method is an older version in terms of connectivity. This uses Bluetooth 4.2 with essential profiles such as A2DP 1.3, AVRCP 1.5, and HFP 1.6. Furthermore, charging is handled through the micro USB port.

      Battery

For the earpieces, 85 mAh batteries fuel the Free X. The number may seem huge, but each battery lasts only for four hours for both music and calls. The 1500 mAh battery in the case is enough to provide you with another 20 hours of playtime. The case itself can be fully charged within just two hours, thanks to the micro USB.
