Honor X9b Overview

Honor X9b is the follow-up to the Honor X9a that launched back in January 2023. This smartphone carries over everything we love about the Honor X9a and more.

Design and Display

The Honor X9b comes with the same design blueprint as its predecessor with a large camera island on the back. This time around camera island is enclosed by a metal ring. It is available in four colour options altogether: Midnight Black, Emerald Green, Titanium Silver, and Sunrise Orange. The latter one features a vegan leather finish on the back. On the front, we have a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 19.9:9 aspect ratio. It also boasts a 1.5K resolution with 1,200 x 2,652 pixels. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1920Hz PWM dimming, alongside a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. On top of that, this display is an “Honor Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display”, which as per the company provides an all-round drop resistance.

Performance

Under the hood, the Honor X9b comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. It is a 4nm processor that can achieve a peak clock speed of 2.2 GHz. Additionally, this Qualcomm silicone prioritises battery usage more than anything else. It is available in two configurations: 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB. Here, you can virtually extend an additional 8GB of RAM. There is no information on if storage can be expanded. On the software front, the Honor X9b comes with MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13.

Camera and the rest

This smartphone comes with a huge 108MP primary camera coupled with a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro lens on the back. This camera offers you with 3x lossless zoom. In the meantime, it sports a 16MP shooter under the centre-aligned hole-punch camera cutout on the front. The Honor X9b houses a massive 5,800 mAh Lithium-polymer cell with 35W charging capability. In terms of wireless connectivity, it comes with dual SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, and five-way navigation support. On the other hand, we have USB 2.0 Type-C for wired connection. This Honor X9b supports face unlock even with a mask on. Lastly, it has a fingerprint sensor on the side for added security.
