Google Pixel Watch 2

The Pixel Watch 2 is Google's offering for 2023 in the smartwatch segment. As the name suggests, it is a second-generation smartwatch and the rightful successor to the Pixel Watch.

Design and Display

Google Pixel Watch 2 is a premium smartwatch with a circular dial and a domed design, similar to its predecessor. It also has solid choices of materials with aluminium for the case, and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for the display. It measures 41 mm in diameter, 12.30 mm in thickness, and weighs a mere 31 grams without the strap. In terms of display, we have an AMOLED screen with a pixel density of 320 PPI. It is capable of achieving 1,000 nits of brightness along with DCI-P3 colour gamut support. Its case is available in 3 different colours: Polished Silver, Matte Black, and Champagne Gold. Whereas its straps are available in four colour options: Bay, Obsidian, Hazel, and Porcelain. You can further customise the watch with additional options of watch bands available in the Google Store.

Performance 

Under the hood, we have Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset. It is a quad-core processor, specifically tailored for wearable devices. The Google Pixel Watch 2 also has a Cortex M33 co-processor as well as 2 GB SDRAM, and 32 GB eMMC flash storage. On the software side of things, it obviously ships with Google's in-house Wear OS 4.0.

Battery and the rest

Powering the entire Pixel Watch 2 is a 306 mAh lithium-ion battery cell, that Google claims can provide you with 24 hours of usage with AOD turned on. Furthermore, it can be fully charged in about 80 minutes with the USB-C to magnetic charging cable, included in the box. It is loaded with about a dozen different sensors for health tracking and other various purposes. Additionally, it is available in two variants: one with only WiFi 2.4GHz connectivity, and the other with 4G LTE connectivity as well. However, both variants come with Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and five-way navigation support. Lastly, it is compatible with devices running on Andriod version 9.0 and later while providing additional functionality via the Google Pixel Watch App.
