Design and Build

The DJI Neo is a super light drone weighing just 135 grams. This compact drone fits in your palm for convenient takeoff and you don’t have to worry about the rotor blades doing any harm as it comes with a propeller guard for those rotating blades.

4K30fps shooting

Despite being a lightweight flying machine, the DJI Neo can capture 4K res videos at 30fps. The camera sensor here is a 1/2-inch CMOS Sensor with f/2.9 aperture, 117.6° FoV, and a single-axis gimbal.  It is accompanied by AI-based subject tracking, RockSteadyt, and Horizon Balancing stabilization. On top of that, the QuickShots feature shows you six different recording angles and you can choose your preferred one.

For stills, it can click 12MP images and can store up to 22GB of files internally. Which is 40 minutes of 4K30 fps videos or 55 minutes of 1080p 60fps videos.

Fly it through your phone

The DJI Neo also supports a WiFi connection, eliminating the need to use an additional remote controller. So, you can fly this thing with virtual joysticks on the DJI Fly app interface with a control range of up to 50 meters. Or else, you can also use dedicated remotes such as DJI RC-N3, and RC Motion 3, or even go more frenzy with FPV Remote Controller 3.

Battery and Others

In terms of battery life, this lil’ guy is rated for 18 minutes of flight time with a 1435mAh battery. It can be recharged with an optional USB-C cable and adapter. One interesting feature of this drone is the voice-control takeoff. One can just say “Hey Fly” and it will make the take-off ready. But one peculiar worry about a lightweight machine is the strong gust of wind, right? Well, DJI has assured a Level 4 wind resistance for stable footage.
