OPPO A6 Pro launched in China with a massive 7,000 mAh battery

The OPPO A6 Pro is now official in China. This new midrange phone from OPPO is mostly focused on durability, while also bringing some slight upgrades to its predecessor. In this article, we will look at the specs and features, as well as the expected price in Nepal of the OPPO A6 Pro.

OPPO A6 Pro Overview

Design and display

The OPPO A6 Pro looks a little different than the China-exclusive A5 Pro. Since the backplate of its camera module now follows the phone's color scheme instead of a solid black finish. And talking about color, the A6 Pro comes in Black Jade, Blue, and Gold options, as you can see from the image below. As I mentioned in the beginning, OPPO has put a strong emphasis on durability with this phone. First of all, it is IP66, IP68, and IP69 rated, which means the A6 Pro is completely safe from dust or water damage. Whereas the A6 Pro can survive drops from up to 2.5 meters, as well as multiple 1.5-meter drops at multiple angles. OPPO mentions that this phone has passed seven harsh environmental conditions under China's GJB 150-2009 military standard, too. Up front, the OPPO A6 Pro boasts a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. This screen offers 1,400 nits of peak brightness while being protected by the Crystal Shield glass that apparently has 160% better drop resistance. But we don't know if OPPO is referring to its older proprietary glass material or Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the A5 Pro.

Performance and battery

Powering the device is a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. The same processor that we saw on the A5 Pro. It can be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM along with up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Unfortunately, the storage is not user-upgradable. Furthermore, the OPPO A6 Pro features a massive 7,000 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. OPPO claims that the battery is capable of retaining 80%+ capacity even after 1,830 charge cycles. You may also like

Camera and rest

Not much has changed in the camera department either. The A6 Pro still ships with a dual camera setup at the back, featuring a 50MP main sensor along with a 2MP monochrome sensor. And for selfies, there is a 16MP camera. Interestingly, the OPPO A6 Pro incorporates a unique 360° surround "Shanghai RF Antenna" that is said to enhance low-frequency transmission by 200% and improve the network reception in weak areas. The device also supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. Smart features like Bluetooth keyless unlocking, real-time vehicle status monitoring, and even assisted vehicle search without a network are also present on this phone.

OPPO A6 Pro Price in Nepal and Availability 

As of now, the OPPO A6 Pro is exclusive to China. Where it starts at CNY 1,799 (~USD 252 / INR 22,315) for the 8/256GB model. The OPPO A6 Pro most likely won't officially launch in Nepal, but if it does, we expect its price to start at around NPR 40,999.
