Nokia C02 announced with a 480p display, removable battery

Remember when smartphones used to come with a removable battery? Nokia is back with its latest budget smartphone, the C02, to provide a similar experience. Yes, the C02 has a removable battery, as well as a few other intriguing features. So, without further ado, let's dive into the Nokia C02's specifications, features, availability, and expected price in Nepal.

Nokia C02 Overview:

Design, Display

Like every other budget phone, the Nokia C02 comes with a polycarbonate build. But what's unsettling here is its thicker profile, coming in at 10mm. Thankfully, the smartphone doesn’t weigh as much at 191 grams, and it has a nano-texture finish on the back for a comfortable grip. You can also remove the rear chassis to reveal a 3000mAh removable battery, and there’s also a slot to insert two SIM and a microSD card. The phone has managed to secure an IP52 rating as well.  On the front, you see a 5.45-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9. This is a 480p (FWVGA+) display with thick bezels on top and bottom. So this is certainly not the best screen for content consumption. The Nokia C02 is available in two colors: Dark Cyan and charcoal.

Performance

In charge of things inside is an unnamed quad-core SoC from Unisoc with a clock speed of 1.4GHz. Memory options include 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The latter is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. Nokia ships the smartphone with Android 12 (Go Edition). And the brand has also promised 2 years of quarterly security updates.

Moving on, camera hardware on the Nokia C02 includes a 5MP sensor on the back and a 2MP shooter for selfies. As for charging, you get a 5W charger in the box, and you might not be surprised to see a Micro USB port here. There’s a single bottom-firing speaker and a 3.5mm jack for audio. Other connectivity options include WiFi 4 (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 4.2 support.
