Motorola has been updating its Moto G series of phones for 2024. The recent member of the series to receive the update is — Moto G Stylus 5G! Design and Display

The Lenovo subsidiary has been giving a uniform design to most of the recent phones. This redesign primarily includes the camera island seamlessly integrated into the back panel of the phone. Sort of like what we saw on the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) also gets the same updated design with a vegan leather finish on the back. Additionally, the phone is also water-repellant and comes with — surprise, surprise — a stylus! It is available in Caramel Latte and Scarlet Wave colour options.

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) gets an update in the display category. The screen size has been increased to 6.7 inches and the panel is now a pOLED. In the meantime, the refresh rate and resolution remain unchanged at 120Hz and FHD+ respectively. Furthermore, the company has clarified other aspects of the display. Such as, now it comes with 2.5D curved glass on top, it's a 10-bit screen capable of DCI-P3 colour space, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz.

Performance

In the performance department, the phone comes with very minimal upgrades. Starting with the processor, it is still the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. The memory size on the Moto G Stylus (2024) receives a bump to 8GB compared to 6GB on the last gen.

On the other hand, the storage size remains unchanged at 256GB. This phone allows you to expand the memory and storage to 16GB and 2TB virtually and via a MicroSD card respectively. Meanwhile, The software has also been updated to the latest Android 14.

Camera

Talking of optics on the Moto G Stylus (2024) we once again get a 50MP primary shooter with OIS capability on the back. Contrarily, the auxiliary lens and the front camera received an upgrade this year. The former is a 13MP ultrawide shooter that also works as a macro lens. Similarly, the front shooter is now a 32MP unit that is double the resolution of the last generation.

Moving on to the other aspects, this phone still packs a 5,000 mAh battery. While the wired charging speed has been upped to 30W and a wireless charging feature of up to 15W has been added this time around. The Moto G Stylus (2024) comes with a dual-speaker as well as a dual-microphone setup. Lastly, the fingerprint sensor has been buried under the screen on this year's variant of this phone.
