Design and Display
Let’s start with the design. As an entry-level notebook, the HP 14s features a plastic body. It is 18mm thick and weighs around 1.5 kg. So, it’s pretty portable and comes in three color options, namely Black, White, and Gold.
The lid has the company's branding at the center and lifting it, you are greeted with the 14” HD LCD screen. It boasts 45% NTSC coverage and can get as bright as 250 nits. There is a slight protrusion above the screen which houses the HD webcam with dual-array microphones.
Performance and Memory
The HP Notebook 14s brings the hybrid architecture of the 12th Gen Intel CPUs. Technically, you can go as high up to Core i5-1235U, but it is the cheaper Intel Core i3-1215U model which is currently available in Nepal. HP offers the laptop in 4GB and 8GB variants and both ship with 256GB of SSD.
Fueling the HP Notebook 14s is a 3-cell 41Wh Li-ion battery and you get a 45W adapter in the box. With the fast-charging support, the laptop can go from 0 to 50% in 45 minutes. The I/O option is decent too. There are three USB ports to the right, including a Type-C. In addition, there is an HDMI, an SD card slot, a combined audio jack, and a DC-in.
